TechTalk: John T.C. Lee, President and CEO of MKS Instruments, new owners of Atotech

We chat with Dr. John T.C. Lee, President and CEO of MKS Instruments, which recently acquired Atotech, a major supplier to finishing and coating applicators around the globe. In 2021, semiconductor equipment maker MKS Instruments and Atotech announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement pursuant to which MKS will acquire Atotech Dr. Lee tells Tim Pennington, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of FinishingAndCoating.com, that MKS and Atotech have complementary customer solutions in key advanced electronics markets, with MKS’ expertise in via drilling and Atotech in electroplating. Dr. Lee says PCBs are becoming increasingly complex as miniaturization is creating new challenges where reliability, productivity and peak performance are critical. The roadmap for next generation interconnects continues to accelerate the need for more integrated solutions that enable yield and throughput gains.

How to reduce the carbon footprint in zinc nickel plating. For Atotech chemicals Mobile 9843019701

About This Webinar Zinc and zinc alloy plating is a very energy-intensive production process. Rectifiers as well as heating and cooling of the various baths from cleaning to plating and post-treatment contribute to significant power consumption throughout the plating process. With a focus on developing sustainable and efficient production processes, Atotech helps electroplaters to significantly reduce energy consumption through highly efficient chemical processes and a broad range of auxiliary equipment tailored to these processes. Thus, Atotech not only contributes to cost-efficient production, but also supports the industry in reducing CO2 emissions. In this webinar, we will present data-based CO2 savings potential that can be achieved with our plating processes and unique anode technology. Topics that will be covered in our webinar: • Carbon neutrality targets in the industry • Relevant CO2 sources in the plating process and calculation of the resulting emissions • Reduction possibilities of CO2 emissions in zinc nickel plating - Alternative processes - Auxiliary equipment • Carbon footprint in the entire value chain • Q&A session As an innovative and environmentally conscious company, our goal is to be the leading supplier of sustainable surface finishing systems. In all our product lines, we strive to reduce the use of toxic substances and provide production processes that use less water and energy - all while reducing waste and emissions. We are here to help our customers reduce their CO2 emissions already today. Dr. Matthias Hoch Global Business Development Manager & Special Projects Dr. Matthias Hoch, who holds a PhD in Chemistry, has more than 30 years industry experience. In 2011 he joined the Atotech corrosion protection team as Global Business Development Manager & Special Projects focusing on worldwide customer and business partner projects. Dr. Hoch's extensive experience ranges from in-depth market knowledge, product, key account and project management to business development.

Cr(VI)-free decorative chromium plating - Beyond the REACH for many. Not for Us - ESS ESS Trading - Atotech Partnership

Please email us to buy All atotech products at info@essesstrading.in Mobile: 9843019701 Dr. Ernesto Salazar | Global Product Director DECO/PoP Christelle Virion | Global Product Manager DECO/PoP Hexavalent chromium has been used in the plating industry for about a century. Having been listed as a substance of very high concern (SVHC) in the European Union, its use now requires authorization under REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals). This classification marked a turning point in the plating industry, which has accelerated the search for alternative plating processes that do not contain hexavalent chromium compounds like chromium trioxide. While Cr(VI)-free chromium processes have been established as viable substitutes in the market for some time due to the additional properties they bring - broader color spectrum and increased corrosion resistance - the introduction of a Cr(VI)-free etching process for plastics has remained a challenge for chemical suppliers for many years. As a pioneer in the promotion of sustainable technologies, Atotech has invested heavily in the development of Cr(VI)-free technologies. Today, we can offer Covertron®, a production-proven, REACH-compliant, Cr(VI)-free etching process for plastics, already installed at multiple customers around the world. Combined with our well-known TriChrome® family of trivalent chromium plating processes a Cr(VI)-free future for the electroplating industry is a reality within our reach. In this webinar, Christelle Virion and Dr. Ernesto Salazar will share insights and update you on the very complex situation regarding REACH authorization for chromium trioxide, followed by an introduction of Atotech’s REACH-compliant process solutions for decorative chromium that are available today, concluding with an outlook on the supply chain. Topics that will be covered in the webinar: • REACH update • Atotech processes for decorative Cr(VI)-free chromium plating - Covertron® - TriChrome® • Technical performance • Field status and outlook • Q&As Looking forward to your participation.
